8/13/11: Pouring My Heart Out. Stand Back.

Damn; a whole month and ten days without an update. This obviously requires an explanation, and I've got a few whoppers, so here goes:

Not long after the last update, I was promoted from part-time to full-time at work, albeit on the evening shift, so that's been eating up a lot of my time. Also, the Missus took a second part-time job, which increases the amount of time that I'm watching Glarryg, Jr. Mostly, however, I've been torn about what I need to do to escape the full-time job rut I'm in. The thing is, I've got stories to tell, ideas to send out into the ether, and I want to do that more strongly than I can explain. To me, creation isn't like an itch that needs to be scratched; it's more like a demon that must be exorcised. If I don't do it, it will consume me. I just don't know where to begin; there's so much that ties together, and so much that stands alone. I need to be able to do this all the time if I'm going to see everything to fruition; therefore, I need to make it my job.

The problem is that Squid Ninja doesn't pay the bills. I love this story, these characters, and this place, but nobody else loves it enough to want to pay to experience it. I've tried. Outside of my family, a grand total of two (2) people bought the first Stash book. I don't know what to take from that (or, rather, I do know, but don't want to admit it).

So, where does that leave me and you, faithful readers? I honestly don't know. So much of my being wants to tell the rest of this story, because it goes far, far deeper than what we've seen already. But I need to find a way to get to the point where I'm able to create everything I have, and I just don't know how to do that yet. Rest assured, once I figure it out, I'll let you all know; until then, I'll do what I can here.

By the way, the picture is of Ikago wearing an Intes-Tie, which is a necktie made of... well, you get it.

7/3/11: The Great RSS Challenge Has Been Met!

It looks like I've finally got this thing working! Woo-hoo! And to celebrate, here's a new depiction of Ikago, taken from the highly unpopular Squid Ninja Gallery book I made a few years ago which was bought by, like, two people. I'm not kidding. Also, a little note of "housekeeping:" your RSS updates will not always feature every piece of information that shows up on-site. For example, go to the main page for an update on a death of sorts in the Squid Ninja family.

7/1/11: The Great RSS Challenge Goes On... And On...

Let's give this another shot. I finally got some time to check out what might be the cause, and I'm throwing some ideas at a wall to see what sticks. If you're reading this, then something stuck. Woo hoo! Also, purple monkey dishwasher.

The Great RSS Challenge

If you can see this in your RSS reader, then let me know by posting the phrase "Double Entendre" in the Shoutbox on the Squid Ninja front page. It'll confuse the hell out of the people who don't RSS, which will be an interesting side effect.
